Petitenget Temple - Another Beautiful Beachside Temple

Petitenget Temple is a Hindu Temple located in Banjar Batu Belig, Kerobokan Village, Kuta, Badung Regency. It is about 20 minutes away from Ngurah Rai International Airport. This temple is one of the Dang Khayangan Temple in Bali. It is an interesting Temple to visit due to its unique architecture and its nature surroundings. The temple is set in a higher land and in the west of the temple lays a beautiful Petitenget beach with greyish white sand. There are several shrines in this temple, locals come and pray regularly to this temple.

The word Petitenget is derived form two words Peti which means coven and Tenget which means haunted, the temple was built in the 15th century and the history tells that the temple was placed in a wild area full of bushes and huge trees just like an untamed field. A priest called Dang Hyang Dwijendra left Serangan island and arrived in Kerobokan Village. There he met Bhuta Ijo, a spirit which is believed to have a very scary look. Before leaving the village, the priest gave Bhuta Ijo a box looking like a coven and told him to guard it. The priest left to Uluwatu for a meditation, during his meditation, a visitor from Kerobokan Village came to him for help. The men told the priest about the area in Kerobokan which was very bad for the inhabitants, because every time someone entered the land, that person will get sick. As a solution, the priest built a temple which is now known as the Petitenget Temple.

In front of the temple, there is a large parking area. The parking area is mostly used by visitors who come to visit the beautiful beach near the Petitenget Beach. The area is surrounded by villas, hotels and restaurants, therefore this area is becoming a great tourist destinations. The beach is crowded in the mornings and afternoons, many locals come to play at the beach, for dog lovers, it is a great place to visit because there are many people come to this beach with their dogs and various breed of dogs can be found in the beach.

Lovina Beach Blessed by Dolphin Watching and Sunrise

 

Seeing a Dolphin Attraction in Lovina Beach is would give an interesting experience for all visitors. Lovina Beach is a popular beach located in the northern part of Bali, Kalibukbuk Village, Buleleng Regency, Singaraja. Lovina Beach in Kalibukbuk Village has an interesting attraction compared to other area of Lovina Beach, along the coast, visitors are able to see wild dolphins in the middle of the waters. This beach is inhabited by hundreds of dolphins which are always ready to entertain visitors from all over the world.

The Dolphins in Lovina Beach is known very acrobatic and friendly with humans. Visitors are presented an acrobatic performance and funny behavior of a set of Dolphins directly in the sea. To be able to see the various attractions that are shown by the Dolphins from a close distance, visitors must go to the sea in the early morning about 6:00am. Visitors must go early in the morning because Dolphins are just emerging in Lovina Beach area from 6:00am to 8:00am, after that they will go back to their habitat in the middle of the beach. The beautiful sunrise view while seeing the Dolphin attraction is an incredible moment. At that time, Dolphins will naturally show their attraction and entertain all visitors. Visitors may even feel the splashes caused by the jumps of the dolphins, it is a special moment where visitors can appreciate the natural beauty that Bali offers.

For visitors who are interested to watch this Dolphin attraction, there are many boats lined up along the beach coast which are available to be rented. The boat will deliver visitors to the dolphin area, this dolphin attraction would show their attractions for about 1 hour. On the months of February to March this Dolphin watching is not offered due to the heavy rain. This attraction is very interesting because it can only be seen in Lovina Beach Bali.

Batukaru Temple | The Secret Hindu Temple in Jungle and Slope of Batukaru Mount

 

Batukaru Temple is one of the six directional temples in Bali (Sad Khayangan) which is believed to protect the island and the inhabitants from evil spirits. This temple is one of the biggest Hindu Temples in Bali, located on the foot of Batukaru Mountain, Wangaya Gede countryside, Penebel District, Tabanan Regency. This temple protects Bali from the west side and was built in the 11th century. The beautiful temple is set in a plateau surrounded by a tropical rainforest and a sturdy Batukaru mountain backdrop.

The history of this temple is difficult  to be found out some ancient negligence also exist in this temple. Same as other temples in Bali, Batukaru temple also has three elements of temple area which consists of the outside area (Nista Mandala), middle area (Madya Mandala) and the main area (Utama Mandala). In the outside area visitors can see a Wantilan building or a Meeting hall, it is a multifunctional building located on the right side of the entrance gate. Visitors may sit and relax in this building. The temple's most important shrine is the 7-tiered Meru it is a shrine to worship the God of Batukaru, Mahadewa.

On big Balinese ceremonies such as Galungan and Kuningan, people from all over the island come to pray at the temple. The water in Batukaru temple is believed as a holy water and it is used for ceremonies and offered to God to ensure fertility of the land. Batukaru temple is appointed as great tourist destination in Bali, many domestic and foreign visitors come and visit this temple everyday. The cool and fresh atmosphere and a beautiful view of Balinese Hindu temple with a mountain backdrop makes this temple as an interesting place to visit.
