Enjoying the Unique Museum of Big Doll "Ogoh - Ogoh"

 A day before Nyepi Day celebration, or well known with appellation Pengrupukan Day there is an attraction of parading Ogoh-ogoh held on the street in Bali. Ogoh-ogoh is a statue shaped like a giant made from bamboo and paper or other materials which paraded surround the village at the moment before the Nyepi Day celebration. White Cow in Taro Village 


Taro Village is located in Tegalalang District, Gianyar Regency. It will take 1.5 hours, if you stay in Kuta area or 45 kilometers. Taro Village also called by the village of white cow. The cow in Taro Village is different than the other cow in Indonesia. The characterized of this cow is has white leather and feather, the iris is limpid, the color of horn is more faded than the other, and can’t be exposed direct sunlight. Local people called this cow with Taro’s Cow which is the endemic from Taro Village. This unique cow having become a tourist attraction throughout the country is so far still well preserved. Even, one of the ancestral heritages is highly trustworthy because it is believed as the vehicle of Lord Shiva. Existence of this animal is purified by local community. Even, they are given a special nickname. For bulls, they are called Ida Bagus Lanang, while the heifers are called Si Luh. It is said the white cow is the descendant of the Nandini cow. To Balinese people, it poses a complementary means of ceremonies called Ngasti. To preserve the population, the local community is now building a cage for maintaining their health. This rare animal is made a space within an area of 5 hectares as its native habitat. The making of cage also poses the arrangement for the convenience of visitors who want to see the existence of the native animal to Taro village.

Petulu is the Heron Village 

The herons has been nested since 1965 and initially only 5 herons. Every month, the populations of herons grow faster and they breed in there. At first, they are immigration from the other place and come to this village and stay in there. The local people disturbed with this condition, they catch and the heron. But after catching the heron, the local people felt not comfortable, because they are visited by big scary ghost in their dream or the reality. So, the local people ask to Pendanda (Balinese Clergyman) and conduct a ritual. When the ritual is beginning, the clergyman is trance and told if the heron is rancang (guard) of God who worshiped in Desa Temple (temple set up in village). The herons are as the niskala guard (invisible guard) and protect the village from pest in the rice field. After people making a monument in the Desa Temple as offerings to heron, the village become prosperous, the harvest is abundant and there is no pests threaten until today. The Petulu’s heron has white color and brown in back and face. They live on the trees which along of road till in front of Desa Temple. You will find them in sasih kelima until sasih kesanga (Balinese mouth) or October-March. The herons will nest and keep their children on that period. On April-September, you also find them, but the population less than October-March. I suggest you to visit this unique place at 5 pm, because they come back from finding food. Don’t forget to wear hat, to cover your head from the heron’s feces. If you are lucky, you will see 2 black herons. According the local people they are the leader of thousand of herons.

Sacred Buffalo in Tenganan Village


While walking in Tenganan Village, Karangasem Regency, you will find a line of local people's house neatly, awesome gringsing cloth and amazing culture. Beside of that, this village gives you something new, its sacred buffalo. The buffalo does not have cage and roam freely. Mammal is so freely walking in the yard of the village. The local societies believe that there are ngangonang (herding) these sacred animals. Therefore the local society cannot keep and feed it anymore, because they can find some food by itself. The local society did not disturb the tranquility of sacred buffaloes. If it broke yard of local people house, the society will throw it out. To ensure no interference to the buffaloes, the village also has awig-awig (traditional rule). The societies not allow tending their pets in the yard of the village. This rule is still maintained by the society until today.

TCEC- The Perfect Place to Learning Turtle


The Turtle Conservation and Education Center (TCEC) located in Serangan Island. It opened by Bali Governor, Mr. Dewa Brata (Jan 20th 2006) in Serangan Island. Many turtle was catch and the egg was eaten by people. Because of that, Serangan Village creates this conversation. Balinese People also used turtle in some ceremony. 

This place is the best place to conserve turtle and save their nets. The people collect turtle egg in beaches of Serangan Island and bring into the conservation. The egg is given a label, when they hatch out, and what kind of turtle they are. After hatching out, some baby turtle keep in conservation and released into the sea. Not too much baby of turtle will grow up, they will catch by snake, bird, shark in the sea. Beside of that, you can learning about turtle and get much information about turtle. There are 7 kinds turtle in the world and Indonesia has 6 kinds like Belimbing Turtle (Dermochelys coriacea), Hijau Turtle (Chelonia mydas), Lekang Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea), Sisik Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), Pipih Turtle (Natator depressus) and Tempayan turtle (Caretta caretta).

The TCEC is helping sea turtles from going extinct and as a charity organization, depends strongly on

Nusa Ceningan Island is one of beautiful island in the world. If you want to visit this island, you must go to Nusa Lembongan Island by boat. Arrived in Nusa Lembongan Island, you drive motorcycle to reach Nusa Ceningan Island and you will pass a big bright.
You can explore so many interesting places in this island. Blue lagoon is a new destination in Nusa Ceningan Island. You can see beautiful blue of sea water and amazing cliff. Gedong Kirtya – Learning the Balinese Manuscript

Buleleng Regency is the historical town, because it had become capital city of Bali on 1885-1958. If you visit Buleleng, you must visit Gedong Kirtya Museum. 
Gedong Kirtya Museum located in veteran street Singaraja, or 10 km from Lovina Beach. This museum was built by Resident I.J.J. Calon on June 2nd 1928, who was a government official in Bali and Lombok during the Dutch colonial era. Initially, this place is used to research the Balinese Culture by 2 Dutch scholars F.A. Liefrienk and Dr. N. van der Tuuk . The name this museum was given by I Gusti Putu djelantik (Buleleng’s King), “gedong” mean building and “kirtya” mean to endeavour. So Gedong Kirtya means the building to conserve of Balinese Culture, especially the manuscript. 
The total area of this manuscript museum is 300 squares meter and divided into 4 rooms. The first room, to keep lontar or old manuscript; the 2nd room, the place for copying the lontar; the 3rd room is the place for administration and the last room is exhibition place. Gedong Kirtya Museum collected the copies and preserves thousands of lontar (manuscripts made of palm leaf), "prasati" (transcriptions on metal plates) and books which contain various aspects of human life, such as religion, architecture, philosophy, genealogy, homeopathy, "usada" (medical manuscripts), black magic, and so on, in the Balinese, Kawi (old Javanese) and the Dutch, English and German language.

Awesome Dolphins Show in Lovina Beach





Bali is not only known for its Kuta tourism object. Moving to north of Bali, in Bangli you will find Lovina Beach which is located about 9 kilometers from the town center Singaraja, exactly in Kalibukbuk Village, Buleleng. Lovina Beach is as good as other beaches in Bali. However, its sands colour is black not like beach in generally. The beach waves is fairly calm, that make you easier reach the seas only with fishing boat.


Lovina Beach is popular with its wild dolphins show. In this beach there are hundreds of wild dolphins. To see the dolphins show, you have to go to the sea before sunrise. The dolphins will be popping up in 6 am to 8 am. They are jumping around or just swimming under the water. Oh, how awesome they are!
