Parangtritis Sand Dune, Indonesian-Style Desert

Who think Indonesia has a desert like Africa with Sahara desert ? Strange but true. This natural phenomenon does exist in Indonesia, exactly in Yogyakarta city. Unique, this desert is formed in Indonesia, which has a tropical climate with high rainfall. The uniqueness is named Parangtritis Sand Dune.

Entering this sand dune area, visitors will be welcome by the hissing of the soft sand blown by the wind. The harder the wind blows, the more sand particles are blown away. Sikidang Crater - The Jumping Volcanic Crater

Dieng Plateau is a active volcano area and save a million natural beauty. One of the famous is Sikidang crater. Sikidang Crater is a tourist attraction which located in Dieng Wetan, Kejajar, Wonosobo regency, Central Java. From Yogyakarta to Dieng Plateau will take approximately 2,5 hours.


Barren stretch of land surrounded by hills with ponds continue to smoke will greet visitors upon arrival in Sikidang crater. Sikidang crater is ex-volcanic eruption that formed the crater and still active today but this place is safe for visit because of the low sulfur level. Suroloyo Peak - The Beauty of Buddha Sleep Hills


Suroloyo peak is the highest of peak in Menoreh hills. For local people, Menoreh hills stretching from central Java to Yogyakarta is often referred to as the Buddha sleep hills. The located of Suroloyo peak at Keceme village, Samigaluh, Kulon Progo regency, Yogyakarta. This peak has a height about 1.019 meters above sea level. To reach this peak, visitors have to pass through damaged and winding road, from the foot to the top  visitors have also pass to 286 steps.

When visitors have reached peak, tired during the trip will be lost. Welcome speech of butterflies, birds and dragonflies will welcome visitors got to the peak. The beauty of scenery outspread in front of the eyes. From a distance looked the top of Sumbing, Sindoro, Merapi and Merbabu mount. Suroloyo peak is meeting point between that mounts and purportedly, this place become a hermitage place of Sulta Agung. In between the trees, visitors can also looked Borobudur temple which looks very small. The cloud movement around peak and fresh air make visitors chuckle in awe.

Suroloyo peak has three pavilion. There are Suroloyo hermitage, Sariloyo hermitage and Kaendran hermitage. All the hermitage is located in an area adjacent. The visitors who visit to Suroloyo peak charge of entrance ticket about Rp 2.000. The best time to visit is before sunrise, so visitors can see the rise of sun behind the mountain.

Pindul Cave, Wading Adventure Underground River

Pindul cave has a length about 350 meters, width about 5 meters and this cave has also three zone such as bright zone, dim zone and dark zone. Timang Beach Yogyakarta - Exhausting but Amazing


Besides Bali is popular for its beaches, Yogyakarta also has the appeal of beaches that are not inferior to Bali. One of the beaches that have exceptional beauty is Timang Beach.

Timang Beach is located in Gunung Kidul district, Yogyakarta and this beach flanked by two beaches namely Siung Beach and Sundak Beach. To visit this beach takes 3 hours from Yogyakarta city. The reach this beach, the necessary sacrifices fairly large because the location fairly remote so that there is not a lot of visitors. 

But tired and sacrifices will be lost when it got there, because this beach has natural scenery is very beautiful and very big waves that emit a beautiful roar. In the west, visitors could see the steep rocky beach and in the east, visitors could see the sandy beach as the south coast in general.

Bali Elephant Camp Offers Adventurous Elephant Riding

Mount Agung Trekking - Bali Adventure Impressible Experience

For nature lover visitors, trekking attraction in Bali would be a desire. One of the best trekking attraction which interests both domestic and foreign tourist would be the Mount Agung climbing. Agung mountain is an active volcano, the last eruption was in 1963. This mountain is known as the most sacred mountain in Bali, it is believed that Hindu Gods reside in this mountain. On big religious ceremonies for Hindus, Balinese locals would do a spiritual climbing to reach the highest peak to give offerings and hope for welfare and prosperity.

Climbing Mount Agung, the highest mountain in Bali would give a great and unforgettable experience for all climbers. There are two peaks where climbers may choose which peak to climb. The first peak is located 3.031 meters above sea level and the second peak is located 2.000 meters above sea level. Climbers must have good stamina and be in a fit condition to climb the mountain.

Both the first and second peak offers great view and has the same start point, in Pasar Agung temple. Climbing up to the second peak (2.000 meters above sea level) is more popular for climbers, the trekking starts from the southern track. Climbers must start the trekking at 01:45am to be able to see the beautiful and spectacular sunrise moment at 6:00am. It takes about 4 hours trekking to reach the second peak. Climbing the first peak (3.031 meters above sea level) would need extra stamina, the start point for this peak starts from the western track. It needs about 5-6 hours of trekking to reach the peak, therefore, climbers must start their trekking at 12:00am.The price is about Rp 650.000 to climb the second peak and about Rp. 1.000.000 to climb the first peak. The fee include english speaking guide, a shuttle to Mount Agung and breakfast.

There are some attentions for visitors who would like to climb Mount Agung. As a sacred mountain, climbers are not permitted to bring foods with beef substance because cows are one of the most sacred animal in Bali. Visitors are not allowed to climb the mountain when there is a religious ceremony held in Besakih Temple and Pasar Agung Temple. Climbers should wear warm clothes as the temperature may reach up to 10 degree Celsius. It is suggested to bring at least 1.5 liters of drinking water per person because the source of water in the mountain is minim. The best time to climb mount Agung is in the dry season during April to October. Climbing on January and February should be avoided due to the possibility of heavy rain and even landslides.
