Jalak Bali - Rare Birth Preserved Urgently

Jalak Bali or known as Bali Myna is an endemic species of Myna Bird found in Bali. This bird has been designated as the fauna symbol of Bali in 1991, and it is featured on the Indonesian Rp 200 coin. Jalak Bali can be found in the West Bali National Park, Negara Regency and Nusa Penida Island. This birth is critically endangered, because many people catch this bird illegally and cut down forest where they live in the nature. The exact number of Jalak Bali Bird remaining in the wild is unknown.

The adult Jalak Bali come in size about 25 centimeters, it is covered with white feathers. The bird has a drooping crest and black wing-tips and tail tip. It has a yellow bill and round eyes, around the eyes and legs there are blue bare skin which makes the bird look beautiful. The characteristic of the male and female bird is similar, the male bird is slightly bigger in size and has longer crest than the female bird. 

Besides the beautiful look, Jalak Bali also have sharp chattering and an emphatic twat. They usually live in groups and make a living by fruit, seeds, insects and small insects. During the breeding seasons, the male attract the female birds by calling and chattering loudly. The female bird usually lay and incubate 2 to 3 eggs, both male and female Jalak Bali bring food for their chicks after hatching.

Bali Bird Park

Bali Bird Park is located in the Singapadu Village, Sukawati district, Gianyar Regency. Approximately 12 km to the east of Denpasar and can be reached within 1 hour from Ngurah Rai Bypass Road through Prof. Ida Bagus Mantra. Tourist attractions in Bali is also the direction of the village Wood Art Batubulan and sculpture and handicraft center of gold and silver in Celuk Gianyar Bali. 

It is one of the largest bird park in Indonesia. Built on an area of 2 hectares, this park has a variety of collections of birds. Both local and foreign birds. The bird park is one of the most favorite tourists attractions for tourist who holiday in Bali with family and children. This area is famous for its existence very rare bird that is the Bali Starling. In October 1995 these attractions opened for the first time. Approximately 1.000 animals of 250 species of fowl maintained in this park. Such as birds of Paradise, Kaswari, Pigeon, Pelican, Stork, Parrot, and other avian species similar. 

In addition to vehicle parking area is provided for visitors, the park was also built at restaurants and cafes. A wide variety of foods and drinks on offer.
