Ayung River Great Nature of Bali

Ayung River is the longest river in Bali, it runs 75 kilometers from the northern mountain ranges and discharges into Badung Strait at Sanur near Denpasar. The river traverse 5 regency in Bali. The source of water from the mountains in Kintamani, as well as the confluence of the small rivers that flows to Ayung River makes the river flow quite heavy. The advantage of this river is used by the rafting companies as a great rafting recreation for both domestic and foreign tourists.

Besides the great river flow, Ayung River also offers great views of cliffs and beautiful green scenery. Along the upstream, visitors may find a bat cave between the green scenery and small waterfall, there are also Ramayana Epic carvings in some of the cliffs of Ayung River. Le Mayeur Museum a Belgian Heritage

Le Mayeur Museum is a museum located in the Sanur Beach region, Denpasar City. This museum contains Adrein-Jean Le Mayeur's artwork as well as his collection of traditional Balinese art. Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merpres is a descendant of a Belgian nobleman born in Brussels on the 9th of February 1880. His parents prohibited him to develop his painting talent so Le Mayeur decided to leave his family. In 1932 he arrived in a harbour in Singaraja City, he continued his journey to Denpasar. At the beginning, Le Mayeur's plan was to stay in the island for 8 months but he fell in love with the beautiful nature and cultures of Bali and decided to live along the coast of Sanur Beach. Le Mayeur then married Ni Nyoman Pollok, a Legong dancer who was also his model for his paintings.

Most of Le Mayeur's painting bring up the theme of natural panorama, cultural expressions and the beauty of Balinese ladies. According to the testament written in 1957 it is concerned that if Le Mayeur and his wife Ni Pollok pass away, his house will be given to the government as a Museum. Inside the museum, visitors get to see various paintings and artworks by Le Mayeur and Le Mayeur's historical objects such as chairs, carved tables, wardrobes, clay pots, silverware, books and statues.

Approximately, there are about 88 paintings by Le Mayeur, it is estimated that the painting was painted between 1921 to 1957. What makes the painting unique and interesting is that not all of his paintings are painted on a canvas, some were painted on hardboard, triplex, paper and sackcloth. The Le Mayeur museum is opened from 08:00am until 15:00pm on Saturdays to Thursdays, 08:00am until 12:30pm on Fridays and the museum is closed on national holidays. This museum is worth a visit especially for visitors  who are interested in arts.

Tegenungan Waterfall - Small but Superb Waterfall

Tegenungan Waterfall is an attractive waterfall in Bali, it is located in a sacred river of Petanu river, Kemenuh Village, Gianyar Regency. It is about 30 kilometers away from Denpasar City and takes about 40 minutes to reach the Waterfall. Visitors who are interested to go hiking through the jungle to a hidden waterfall, Tegenungan would be a great choice, besides hiking, taking a cool swim in the waterfall river is also delightful. Great panorama of nature and fresh atmosphere is presented in the waterfall area.

This waterfall is one of the best and fun waterfall that should be visited in Bali. Visitors must give a quite effort to reach the waterfall because visitors must go down many steps until the river to be able to see the Tegenungan waterfall closely. The waterfall gives sharp drops along the course of the river, it is a very nice place to stay, the cool atmosphere from the small splash of waters and the green nature surrounding makes many people want to spend longer time in the waterfall area. The entrance fee to this waterfall is only Rp 10.000 per person. Tegenungan Waterfall gives adventurous experience for all visitors who visit the waterfall.
