Puri Saren an Artistic Cultural Palace

 

Puri Saren or Ubud palace is a historical building that is still maintained well. It is located in the center of Ubud, Gianyar regency, about 1 hour drive from Denpasar City. Puri Saren is a beautiful Ubud kingdom palace with traditional houses as a residence of Ubud King. The cultural heritage is still sustainable until now, makes this palace as one of the most visited tourist attraction in Ubud. Puri Saren is visited by many visitors everyday, visitors must wear polite clothes when entering the palace and are not allowed to be loud or noisy inside the palace area.

This palace is a cultural life center founded by Ida Tjokorda Putu Kandel during his reign from 1800-1823. He built Puri Saren and his generation keeps maintaining the authenticity and existence of the palace though the feudal era is becoming modern era. In the past, Puri Saren was only earmarked for the kingdom families, however, these days, it is opened for public as a tourist object. The Palace is completed with Wantilan or an auditorium for assemblies. In the evening, various types of art performances are performed in this Palace, Puri Saren is also a place to keep the existence of the Balinese cultural arts such as Balinese dances, musics and literature. 

Across the palace there is a traditional market as another tourist destination for visitors after visiting the artistic Ubud Palace. Besides a traditional market, there are many art shops, restaurants and hotels for visitors who wants to have a longer stay in Ubud.

Bali Frangipani Garden - The house of Frangipani

Taman Jepun or Bali Frangipani Garden is a great flower garden located in the center of Denpasar City, in Jalan Hayam wuruk. Bunga Jepun or Frangipani flower is widely used in ritual offerings, decorations and as garden plants in Bali. The garden has an area of 2.5 hectares and it is a special garden that collects various types of Frangipani flowers. Situated in the center of the city makes this garden as one of a tourist attraction but only few people notice the presence of this garde. For visitors who likes flowers, it is recommended to have a visit to this beautiful Frangipani Garden. Visitors can relax and enjoy a different atmosphere of flower garden.

This Frangipani Garden was opened in 2011, it collects about 400 Frangipani (2 to 10 meters tall) trees with different species and brought in from foreign countries such as Latin America, India, some countries from Southeast Asia and Balinese Frangipani itself. Some scarce species that may be more than a hundred years can also be found in this garden. The garden is laid out neatly completed with fish ponds. Entering the garden, visitors would see beautiful Frangipani trees lining up. Especially on flowering season during May to November, visitors may see lots of colorful Frangipani with great scents.

The garden is opened from 7:00am until 20:00pm, the enterance fee is only Rp. 30.000 per person. Outbound activities such as flying fox, camping ground and other children parks are provided in this garden with additional fees. A restaurant is ready to serve visitors with delicious drinks and meals after having a stroll around the garden. This garden is also available to be rented as a wedding and party venues.

Tegalalang Village Great Panorama of Rice Terrace

Tegalalang is one of the most popular tourist destination in Bali. It is located in Tegalalang Village in the north part of Ubud, Bali. Tegalalang offers amazing view of rice terrace set in cliffs where visitors can see from the main road from Kintamani to Ubud. Coconut trees and beautiful small river valleys makes this village look more paradise. This rice terrace one of the best tourist destinations to visit during Ubud Village tour and Kintamani tour.

Tegalalang Village is located 600 meters above sea level, hence, it has a good cool temperature. The local villagers mostly work as a farmer in the rice field and some work as a government officer. Besides the beautiful panorama of rice terrace, Tegalalang Village is also well known with the village handicrafts. Along the roads, visitors would see many shops selling variety of painted woodcarving and other Balinese art products. Most of the wood carvings are made from light wood with wonderful and colorful design. Lots of restaurant are provided in Tegalalang, visitors can have lunch and enjoy meals in the beautiful village with great rice terrace view. Another interesting moment is when visitors get the chance to see local farmers do their activities in the rice terrace. Especially for foreign visitors seeing the farmers activities may be an unique moment that could not be seen in their own countries. 

This rice terrace is quickly developing as the most favorite tourist destinations. Visitors who visit this beautiful site will discover the beautiful rice terrace on the cliff and understand how local farmers work hard to make rice. Tegalalang Village is a great site that visitors must visit when having a holiday in this island.
