Suroloyo Peak - The Beauty of Buddha Sleep Hills

Suroloyo peak is the highest of peak in Menoreh hills. For local people, Menoreh hills stretching from central Java to Yogyakarta is often referred to as the Buddha sleep hills. The located of Suroloyo peak at Keceme village, Samigaluh, Kulon Progo regency, Yogyakarta. This peak has a height about 1.019 meters above sea level. To reach this peak, visitors have to pass through damaged and winding road, from the foot to the top  visitors have also pass to 286 steps.

When visitors have reached peak, tired during the trip will be lost. Welcome speech of butterflies, birds and dragonflies will welcome visitors got to the peak. The beauty of scenery outspread in front of the eyes. From a distance looked the top of Sumbing, Sindoro, Merapi and Merbabu mount. Suroloyo peak is meeting point between that mounts and purportedly, this place become a hermitage place of Sulta Agung. In between the trees, visitors can also looked Borobudur temple which looks very small. The cloud movement around peak and fresh air make visitors chuckle in awe.

Suroloyo peak has three pavilion. There are Suroloyo hermitage, Sariloyo hermitage and Kaendran hermitage. All the hermitage is located in an area adjacent. The visitors who visit to Suroloyo peak charge of entrance ticket about Rp 2.000. The best time to visit is before sunrise, so visitors can see the rise of sun behind the mountain.

Pindul Cave, Wading Adventure Underground River

Sensation tracing dark river in the cave with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites and has story about a journey of Joko Singlulung looking for his father.

Pindul cave has a length about 350 meters, width about 5 meters and this cave has also three zone such as bright zone, dim zone and dark zone. For visitors who want do cave tubing in Pindul cave is nothing special preparations. Cave tubing is caving activities using tires. Necessary equipment is tires, live vest and head lamp, it all ready prepared by superintendent. While along the river which has cold water, visitors will told a story by a guide about naming origins of Pindul cave which is related to a journey of Joko Sunglulung looking for his father.

The beauty of Pindul cave is located in the wall of the cave are filled with ornaments and there are also a lights coming from between the walls of cave. Usually, visitors call the light is a heaven light. Moreover, in the Pindul cave are a lot of bats and the voice adds to beauty of the cave.

Pindul cave is located in Gelaran I village, Bejiharjo, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta.The entrance tickets for visit Pindul cave is about Rp 35.000 The price includes 2 persons guide, cave tubing equipment and insurance. Pindul cave is open from 07.00 until 17.00

Dome House, A Teletubbies House Yogyakarta

Every house in each region has its own uniqueness. But, this is probably the most unique house in the world. This house called Dome house. 

History

Dome houses is a housing complex for resident in Nglepen villages. This resident can not be separated from events of earthquake in Yogyakarta at 2006, resulting in severe damage and collapse in the houses of citizens. As social care, a community agencies and Domes for The world Foundation contributed to the population to build houses. Then, this house called Dome house and inaugurated by the Minister of Life Settlements.

Features

Unique building form characteristic Dome house. Shaped like a dome or half egg remind of Teletubbies house (Teletubbies is a cartoon character). Because of this, the local people around Dome house call Teletubbies house. The others uniqueness of Dome house is the structure of house resistant to earthquake, resistant to wind speeds of 450 kilometers per hours and age of house until several centuries. Otherwise it, the house can maintain the room temperature remains cool is about 27 Celsius degrees for the first floors and 33  Celsius degrees for the second floors.

In addition to seeing the unique form building of Dome house, visitors can also visit to several tourist attractions around Dome house such as Belik Wunut, Belik Cangkok, landslides and the Dome house view from high place.

A ticket for the complex of Dome house is available at Rp 1.500. If visitors want to give more information about Dome house, visitors can enroll visitor's self to tour package that will cost Rp 6.000 per person. In the tour, visitors will be accompanied by a guide, can also involve to various activities such as watching the making of emping garut, tracking some resort near the complex and village tour.
