Dome House, A Teletubbies House Yogyakarta

Every house in each region has its own uniqueness. But, this is probably the most unique house in the world. This house called Dome house. 




History
Dome houses is a housing complex for resident in Nglepen villages. This resident can not be separated from events of earthquake in Yogyakarta at 2006, resulting in severe damage and collapse in the houses of citizens. As social care, a community agencies and Domes for The world Foundation contributed to the population to build houses. Then, this house called Dome house and inaugurated by the Minister of Life Settlements.

Features
Unique building form characteristic Dome house. Shaped like a dome or half egg remind of Teletubbies house (Teletubbies is a cartoon character). Because of this, the local people around Dome house call Teletubbies house. The others uniqueness of Dome house is the structure of house resistant to earthquake, resistant to wind speeds of 450 kilometers per hours and age of house until several centuries. Otherwise it, the house can maintain the room temperature remains cool is about 27 Celsius degrees for the first floors and 33  Celsius degrees for the second floors.

In addition to seeing the unique form building of Dome house, visitors can also visit to several tourist attractions around Dome house such as Belik Wunut, Belik Cangkok, landslides and the Dome house view from high place.

Location 
The complex of Dome house including 80 units Dome house such as 71 residential house, 6 communal bathrooms and 3 public facilities (mosque, polyclinics and auditorium) is located Nglepen village, Sumberharjo, Sleman regency, Yogyakarta. 

Ticket Price
A ticket for the complex of Dome house is available at Rp 1.500. If visitors want to give more information about Dome house, visitors can enroll visitor's self to tour package that will cost Rp 6.000 per person. In the tour, visitors will be accompanied by a guide, can also involve to various activities such as watching the making of emping garut, tracking some resort near the complex and village tour.
