Nusa Penida Offers Great Natural Beauty

Nusa Penida is an island located in the southeast of Bali. Among other small islands that surround Bali such as Serangan, Lembongan Island and Ceningan, Nusa Penida is the biggest island. Administratively, the island belongs to Klungkung district. Nusa Penida is a small island, the population is about 45.100 people and the island area is approximately 202.6 square kilometers. Unlike other small islands, there are only little tourist infrastructure in Nusa Pendida, hence, the island is not full with foreign tourists like the main island, Bali. Visitors can reach this island from Sanur, Kusamba and Padangbai by fast boats.

Nusa Penida is also an interesting island to visit, though the island is not handled as well as Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida offers great underwater view. The atmosphere in this island is dry and the land is dominated with limestone and highland with hills. The inhabitants in Nusa Penida earn their livelihood as farmers, fishermen and merchants. The amazing diving spot in Nusa Penida include Penida Bay, Batu Lumbung (Manta Point), Batu Meling, Batu Abah, Toya Pakeh and Malibu Point. Besides diving, snorkeling and some water sport activities are also provided. For visitor who wants to have a swim at the beach, Nusa Penida offers great beaches for swimming with calm and clear sea water.

 

Another activity that can be done in this island is trekking and having strolls through the natural hills. The hills and trekking spot is still natural without modern touch gives great natural beauty for all visitors who come for trekking. Nusa Penida is a great alternative for visitors who wants to experience natural beauties in a calm atmosphere.

Serangan Island | Bali Secret Place of Interest

Serangan is a small island located 10 kilometers south of Denpasar. Serangan island has a length of 2.9 kilometers and the width of 1 kilometer. It is only about 15 minutes to reach this island from Kuta and Sanur areas. This island is also called as "Turtle island" because this island is known as the nesting ground for green sea turtles. One of Bali's six sacred temples Pura Sakenan is also located in this small island. In the early 90's this island could only be reached by wooden boat, with reclamations, now this island can easily be accessed by a 110 meters bridge.The population is mostly involved in fishing industry, therefore many fishing boats can be found alongside the shore.

Serangan island is regarded as the most least visited location due to its very hot and humid atmosphere. But there are several unique features that makes this small island stand out. Citra Taman Penyu, a turtle breeding pen breeds sea turtles and hatching. This turtle education and conserving center is one of the tourist attraction in this island. Besides learning about turtle lives, visitors may participate in feeding times and regular turtle releases may also be participated by visitors. This island is also famous for water sports especially surfing and wind surfing. It is one of the best surfing spot in Bali especially during October to April the wave is good and ride able.

Pura Sakenan, one of the six sacred Temples in Bali is located in the western shore and is considered as the one of the Holiest temple in Bali. During big celebrations, various rare and sacred dances are performed in this Temple. Visitors must wear proper temple attire to enter this temple.

Nusa Lembongan Beach Resort Bali

Nusa Lembongan is a small island located in southeast of Bali. This island is becoming one of Bali's popular attraction. It is located about 15 kilometers off the coast of Sanur, Bali and takes about 30 minutes by fast boats. Administratively, Nusa Lembongan is a part of sub distric of Klungkung regency. The island is approximately 8 square kilometers in size with a permanent population estimated about 5000 people. Nusa Lembongan is surrounded by coral reef, white sand beach , limestone cliffs and mangroves. The north eastern part of this island is covered by 212 hectares of mangrove and the waters around Nusa Lembongan have at least 247 species of coral and 562 species of reef fish. The climate in this island is almost the same as Bali, but it is noticeably drier especially during May to September. The main activities in this island include surfing, diving, snorkeling, fishing, mountain biking, hiking and many kinds of water sports are also available.

There are two main beaches that attract tourists:

• Jungut Batu: This area is traditionally attracted backpackers and surfers to th island. The white beach in Jungut Batu is pleasant and sunsets are best viewed along the main Jungut Batu beachfront.
• Mushroom Bay: Mushroom Bay is locate in the southwest of Jungut Batu. It has a great white sand beach along with waterside restaurants.

The culture and language spoken in this island is mainly the same as Bali, locals here are Hindu and Temples are easily found in this island. Visitors may be able to see some local men do a cock fight. Visitors may find lots of excitements in this island.
