Desa Tenganan, Karangasem - Bali

Tenganan is a traditional village in the Bali's Island. The village is located in Manggis district, Karangasem Regency in the east of the Bali's Island. Tenganan where tourism can be achieved from Candi Dasa and lies approximately 10 kilometers from there. Tenganan is one of three rural village of Bali Aga, beside Trunyan and Sembiran. The meaning is Bali Aga village still retains a lifestyle of community governance refers to the rules of the inherited traditional village customs of their ancestors. Shape and the buildings and grounds, building layout arrangement, until the location of the temple is made by following the rules of customary hereditary maintained. 

According to some versions of historical records, the word Tenganan comes from the word "middle" or "ngatengahang" which means "to move into deeper region". The word is associated with the movement of the villagers from the seaside to the residential area in the middle of the hills, that are western hill (Bukit Kauh) and east hill (Bukit Kangin). Some say that the people of Tenganan came from Peneges Village, Gianyar, which used to be called as Bedahulu. According to the folklore, King Bedahulu had lost one of his horses and the people look to the east. The horses was found dead by Ki Patih Tunjung Biru, a confidant of the king. For his loyalty Ki Patih Tunjung Biru get the authority to regulate areas that have the scent of carrion (carrion) the horse. Ki Patih Tunjung Biru get area because he cut the horse carcass and spread it as far as he could do. That's the origin of Tenganan Village. 

In generally, Tenganan Villagers work as farmers of rice, but some are making various handicrafts. Some craft Tenganan is typical of woven bamboo, carvings, and paintings on palm leafs that have been burned. In the village visitors can see the buildings of the village and the young craftsmen who draw lontar. From the first the Village of Tenganan has also been recognized for its expertise in weaving cloth gringsing. Hoe to work this gringsing fabric called double ikat technique. The technique is the only one in Indonesia and the resulting fabric known special gringsing up to foreign countries. Tenganan resident still use the barter system in daily life.

Tirta Empul Tampak Siring, Gianyar - Bali

Tirta Empul is a Temple which located in Manukaya Village, Tampak Siring sub-district, Gianyar regency. The location is beside the President Palace, it is built by President Soekarno. Tirta Empul was Famous because there is Water Source until now be created Holy Water for Balinese People Melukat (Bathe) with Holy Water, not only Balinese but also the tourist want to take a bath here with Holy Water. About the name of this temple is take from Water Source’s name which located inside the Temple is Tirta Empul. Etymologically, Tirta Empul is that the water spurt out of the ground. Tirta Empul Temple is one of heritage sites in Bali especially in Gianyar regency. Now Tirta Empul temple and Melukat Place is favorite tourism object in Gianyar regency. In estimated name of Tampak Siring derived from Balinese Language, Tampak means “Telapak” (tread),   Siring means “Miring” (Oblique position). Perhaps in legend has it that the sacred spring, Created by God Indra. His force had been poisoned by Mayadanawa so pierced the earth to create a fountain of immortality to revive them. An inscription dates the founding of a temple at the site to 926 AD. Ever since for more than a thousand years the Balinese have come to bathe in the Sacred Waters for Healing and spiritual merit.

The Tirta Empul Temple Includes the traditional Balinese split gate along with shrines to Shiva, Vishnu, Braham, Mount Batur, and Indra. There is also a large open Pavilion in the main courtyard, useful, for relaxing in the shade. But the main Attraction here is a long rectangular pool carved of stone, filled with Koi  fish and feed by the sacred spring via 12 fountains. Worshippers first make an offering at the temple, then climb into the main pool to bath and pray. Many Balinese people collect the Holy Water in bottles to take home. Nearby there are two smaller pool fed by the spring. Overlooking the temple, on a hill above is surprisingly modern building The Government Palace, built on 1954. Originally a residence for Dutch officials, it was later used by former President Soekarno during his frequent trips to Bali. 

Taman Ujung, Amlapura - Bali

Taman Ujung or Taman Soekasada Ujung is one of historical tourism which located in Karangasem. Taman Ujung is located in eastern area of Karangasem regency, Tumbu village,   around 2 hours by vehicle to get this place. Taman Ujung is a heritage sites from Karangasem Kingdom. At first Taman Ujung is 400 acres but now it is 10 acres, because that land was distributed to the people. It was built on 1919 by the last King of Karangasem, I Gusti Bagus Jelantik who ruled in Karangasem between 1909 and 1945. In the construction of Taman Ujung he was involved   profesional architect from Bali, Belanda, China. This architecture of Taman Ujung has mix style from Traditional architecture of Balinese and Belanda. Eruption of Mount Agung on 1963 was destroyed water palace and got damaged due to big earthquake on 1979, but the government has made restoration for this place. Taman Ujung Consist of some pond and with floating palace in water where the king was rested, Bale Kambang in southern pond, the round Shape of Bale Bengong, Bale Kapal – The building in the highest place to monitor the ships passing. In the other side there are big rhino statue and bull statue. In Taman Ujung you can enjoy the blue ocean view, the green forest view, and also the top of Mount Agung.

Balangan beach is one beach between all of beautiful beach in Bali, located in Jalan Balangan Uluwatu area, Badung – Bali. It is around 1 hour 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport and vehicle can enter this place because this place has wide parking area and safety. This place is very wonderful, it has a beautiful blue ocean, and flanked by cliff. The cliff is 7 meters high. Above the cliff there are some view you can see, like the ocean, golf course, etc. this place is very clean and it has a good wave for surfer. The tourist come here for surfing, sunbathing, swimming and relaxing. This place is calm and peace because this place is not as crowded as Kuta. There are local people who open business here like Café, and Villa you can buy some food at that Café or you can bring your own food.

Pandawa Beach, Kutuh, South Kuta - Badung

One more beach tourism object is opened in Kuta - Bali. It is Pandawa beach or people always said “The Secret Beach”. It is located in Kutuh village, Kuta district – Badung regency. It is around 3km from Nusa Dua, and around 15km from Ngurah Rai Interntional Airport. The Pandawa’s name is taken from history of Mahabharata. This beach is not famous as Kuta Beach, because this place is secret and just local people know about this place. This beach still natural with fisherman villagers. Around the trip to Pandawa beach you will see limestone cliff and figure of Pandawa like Yudistira, Arjuna, Bima, Nakula, and Sahadewa statue and look soo exotic and artistic.

After passing the cliff, you will see the true secret heaven with a beautiful nature with an excellent view. And then you will enter the beach, and you can see white sand, big wave in the middle of the sea, and see the blue water which still clean and clear. The atmosphere is very calm, and quite, seems like this beach offers the beauty, comfort, and serenity with super perfect. Seemed this beach is belongs to you and private beach for you.
